Before you begin to familiarize yourself with the import process, we would like to provide you with a sample idea of the tremendous cost advantages with going direct to our factory in Pakistan.

Deciding whether or not to import salt lamps is a big decision, and not one that should be taken lightly. When beginning your search for a reputable salt lamp supplier one needs to choose very wisely. There are many companies that advertise big operations, quick delivery times and fantastic quality. However there are only few natural salt lamp companies out there that actually do this very well. We would like to begin by educating our customers on the salt lamp process.
Himalayan salt lamps have exploded into the U.S. market over the last three years. With that growth, spawned new companies claiming to be large manufacturers with impressive track records, which is simply not true! The market for salt lamps is split into two parts: manufacturers and traders. The difference being, salt lamp manufacturers produce salt lamps for their customers while traders buy from various Pakistani salt lamp suppliers. Manufacturers of salt crystal lamps can build an order tailored to the customers specifications, color and quality goals. Traders will sell by styles but in actuality; their products are often a mix of many poorly made salt lamps. This will almost always result in compromised product.
Many of our customers were placed at the mercy of dishonest salt rock lamp traders who initially claimed to have large-scale operations. One such customer placed an order with a salt lamp trader for 1000 sphere salt lamps. The trader in turn bought the lamps from his local market. To the customer's misfortune, the trader could only secure 500 sphere salt lamps and proceeded to fill the rest with other salt lamp styles. Another customer placed an order for natural salt lamps and received three versions of the same lamp. One was well made, while the other two were of poor quality. Distinguishing between a salt lamp manufacturer and trader can be deceptive. Make sure you trust and are absolutely sure you are dealing with a reputable salt lamp source.
Finding a good salt lamp supplier is not easy. Remember you pay for what you get, and going with the lowest price can sometimes be a recipe for disaster. If you want good quality and realistic production times, be prepared to pay for it. The salt lamp industry can be very profitable when purchasing, production and shipping are handled properly.
Buying Salt in Bulk
Buying crystal salt for mass production is not easy and must be done with great care. Every order needs well-planned purchasing decisions. Poor purchasing can result in underweight salt lamps, smaller or inconsistent shaped geometric and natural salt lamps, delays in order production and worst of all "bad quality".
Salt Lamp Selection Process
We start with color. When buying the right grade of crystal salt, we always take into consideration the color preferences of our customers. Next comes the size of salt rocks purchased. Orders comprised of many Geometrical crystal salt lamp pieces will require many large sized salt rocks. In the past, this type of purchasing encountered resistance from government mines, so we contracted with private mines for all our salt rock lamp production. Additionally, private salt mines offer more flexibility and a wider selection.
Shaping Salt Lamps
Crystal salt lamps are crafted from large salt rocks and they require the work of skilled laborers. Laborers take each piece and assign a weight and style category. If chosen for natural styles it is sent for chipping; this is where all excess crystal salt is removed and the lamp is crafted into a workable shape. If the piece is assigned for cutting, each block is stenciled and machined into popular geometrical salt crystal lamp shapes.
Finishing Salt Lamps
The salt lamp then moves into the final stage of production. Here it receives the final chipping or polishing preparations and is then put into an assembly line for component upgrades. The customer has many options during the natural salt lamp purchasing process and it is here that the lamp receives those customs finishes. For example some customers choose stainless steel components, rosewood bases, lamp holder plates and many more options.
Packaging Salt Lamps
After production, the salt lamps are then packaged according to the customer's specifications. Customers choose between a basic cardboard generic box, upgraded glossy white box and full-colored printed boxes.
Shipping Salt Lamps by Less than Container and Full Container Loads
Depending on the size of your salt lamp order, we will assign either less than or full container shipping. Each has their advantages and disadvantages. LCL refers to orders that do not fill an entire container, resulting in higher per unit shipping costs, fewer product but lower initial investment. FCL refers to a full container shipment, which results in more product and cheaper per unit shipping charges.
We handle the entire delivery process; from the contracting of shipping companies to U.S. customs clearance, to ensuring the salt lamps arrive at your door.
Salt Lamp Return Policy
All salt lamps are fully insured against major damage or loss. In the unlikelihood of damaged or loss product, customer will be fully reimbursed for their salt lamp order. Otherwise, because salt naturally contains veins, cracks and striations, some salt lamps might arrive chipped or slightly damaged due to shifting of box contents. If this is the case, the customer will have 5 business days after product arrives to fully inspect product and document claims. Chi Evolution will then compensate customer with product or a monetary refund. All of the information contained in this paragraph will be fully detailed in the Service Agreement mentioned below.
Step 1: Select Your Salt Lamp.
You have decided you want in on the salt lamp business and are ready to begin an order. The first step is to select various sizes and shapes of Himalayan salt lamps, Himalayan tea lights and Himalayan bath salts. Based on your experience and preferences, we can either guide you through the entire process or simply facilitate the mix and match process of your salt lamp import order. Once you have a general idea of the approximate product mix and quantities of your order of natural salt lamps, the next step is to assemble a quote.
We also encourage customers to develop their own salt lamp conceptions. If you have an idea, we will assist you in creating your own personalized natural salt lamp. Past examples include University Mascots, Religious Symbols and Cars.

Step 3: Understanding Product Costs and Import Fees.
If you have ever imported directly from an over seas supplier, you are probably familiar with the confusion and frustration that accompanies first time importing. Fortunately for our salt lamp importers, we manage the whole process; from the time contact is initiated to the moment the salt lamp product arrives at your business or doorstep.
We would like to point out that in no such way do we profit from the charges and fees incurred while shipping the product. Our profit is derived solely from product. We wish all salt lamp companies were more transparent with their import fees but there are those who inflate the costs. Upon customer request, we provide documentation of original invoices as proof of costs. Step 4: Timeframe of Delivery.
Importing requires a minimum of 8-10 weeks for the entire salt rock lamp order to land on your doorstep or business. The following is an import timeline: 2-4 weeks for manufacturing and quality inspection (allow for additional time if Full Container Load), 2-4 days for the product to arrive at foreign port city, 2-4 weeks for product to ship, 1-2 weeks for U.S. Customs exams and clearance (in the event cargo undergoes additional exams: Vaccus, I.T., etc., customs approval may be delayed) and 2-4 days for product to be delivered to business or residence.
Step 5: Service Agreement & Payment Terms,
After having configured your salt lamp order and educating yourself on the salt lamp import process, you are ready for the final preparations. The first step is to sign a Service Agreement. A Service Agreement is document laying out the roles and duties of both Chi Evolution and the salt lamp importer: you. The importance of the document is to protect both our clients and Chi Evolution.
For all LCL customers, we take the full payment upfront before beginning an order of salt crystal salt lamps. This is because the funds need to be made available to our factory and employees immediately following the completion of the order. For FCL customers, we take 60% upfront and 40% on documents (documentation proof that product is in transit).

Importing Tips:
Importing salt lamps in large quantities can be the most cost effective strategy for any salt lamp supplier. Greater amount of product translates into lower prices.
